Level 3 Award for Trainers Facilitating Safe Manual Handling in Care – Safe Movement of People Train the Trainer Course
This health and safety moving people trainer course is aimed at practitioners who want to teach, train and deliver moving and handling of people training. The course is to aids or enhance your skills of delivering training focused on the principles of safe movement of people.
The course is suitable for trainers working with health and social care workers in Domiciliary, Supported living, Care and Nursing Home and settings. This Moving of People Care Trainers award is ideal for trainers who want to teach care workers to use aids and equipment that promote safe handling of people such as slide sheets, rota-stands, handling belts, evacuation sledge, wheelchairs, slings, hoists and wheelchairs.
Successful learners who complete this training the trainer course will also be awarded the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) qualification.
Course Content of this Moving People health and social care trainer training
You will be expected to successfully complete the following four units to achieve the Level 3 Award for Trainers Facilitating the Safe Movement of People:
Unit 1: Understanding Manual Handling Safety at Work
This unit focuses on your knowledge and understanding of concepts and principles of safe movement of people such as risk assessments, following manufacturer guidance, OT guidance, roles and responsibilities, dignity, person centered care, reflective practice, professional development and professionalism. You will be expected to fully understand all legislation and regulations that underpin manual handling within the work place including recognising hazards and risks.
Unit 2: Meeting Learner Needs.
This unit focuses on the methods and techniques to meet the needs of learners including assessments. The unit also focuses on inclusive practice, empowering learners, working in partnership and using SMART objectives.
Unit 3: Understanding Holistic Assessments.
The unit focuses on the knowledge and understanding of assessment methods and types. It will address holistic assessments, self and peer assessment.
Unit 4: Delivering Inclusive Training and Learning.
The unit focuses on the techniques of delivering inclusive teaching and learning such as the use of group work, presentations and one to one work
Course Delivery and Assessments
This training the trainer course is delivered over a period of four days when delivered face-to-face at our premises in Walsall. It can also be delivered by distance learning over a period of up to 12 weeks. The course is assessed by written work, professional discussions and a micro-teach session lasting a minimum one hour.

The full cost of this Level 3 Award for Trainers Facilitating the Safe Movement of People course is £350 when completing the course by distance learning. You can also pay by two monthly instalments. Each instalment will be £180.
