Supported Living Mandatory Training
Our Mandatory and statutory training for care workers in supported living settings is aligned with the Skills for Care Core and Mandatory Training 20 topics, which cover a wide range of essential skills and knowledge.
Our mandatory training will focus on roles and responsibilities of supporting individuals living in supported care settings. This includes the need of providing active support and assisting individuals to exercise their rights and access opportunities available to other members of the community. It is therefore essential that our training reflects the uniqueness of working in supported living setting.
The training will focus on supporting individuals with a range of needs including learning disabilities and autism. This can be achieved by incorporating case studies that are specific to the challenges faced when providing support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism. These case studies help care workers understand the unique needs of each individual they support.
Our mandatory training for carers working in supported living also helps care workers develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and empathy required to provide the right care, right support, and foster a supportive culture. This means ensuring that care workers have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide person-centred care that respects individual preferences, promotes independence, and fosters a supportive environment.
The aim of our mandatory training for care workers working in supported living is not only to meet legal requirements but also to help staff become competent and confident in their roles. By working closely with employers, we ensure that the training aligns with their specific staff and business requirements. This collaborative approach ensures that care workers receive comprehensive training tailored to their needs.
